Education Topic: A House Dropped on Your Hotel in the Middle of your Meeting. Now What?
You are having your conference. You planned, had committee meetings, and you created a great program. This meeting was going to be perfect! That was until something unexpected happens. An emergency or accident, it doesn’t really matter which…now the direction of your meeting and your focus has changed.
The handling of an emergency by your conference can be a reflection on both the planner and the hotel. Acts of God are addressed in contracts, but how is your conference /event impacted when a natural disaster or an emergency occurs before or during your meeting. Are your prepared? How can you provide updated information with the attendees and venue? What are the steps you should take in the planning process to help you be more ready for an unexpected crisis? This session will help to answer these questions and more…
Topics covered will include: information on a declared state of emergency, force majeure contract clauses, suggestions for pre-planning and tips for dealing with a crisis after it occurs.
This will be an interactive session so members can share their experiences with other attendees. Come ready to share!

Speaker: Chris Bunting, CGMP: Supplier Director from the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Chris will lead the discussion on this month’s topic. Several chapter members will share their featured “Chapter Stories” with the meeting participants.
